Discovering Mavericks

Paddling on your board to face a 60-foot wave is daunting. Risking sharks, undertow currents and the threat of hypothermia is pure insanity. The forces from a typical wave is the equivalent tonnage of three three-story parking garages filled with cars. So insight for this documentary’s promo campaign was to convey the havoc those monster waves can unleash to any surfer brave — or crazy — enough to take Mavericks head on.
